When we go on vacation and watch a sunrise and sunset, we are amazed and praise God for making a wonderful creation. We appreciate nature and feel awe-inspired about creation. We take pictures and look back on those pictures fondly. The beautiful creation we see makes the vacation always feel so unique and special. Then we go home, back to the mundane everyday life, and we forget that the sun can set so beautifully. I read a quote once from Gene Amole that stuck with me. “The sunrise, of course, doesn't care if we watch it or not. It will keep on being beautiful even if no one bothers to look at it.”
The same thought concept applies for sunsets. I was walking to work the other day when I noticed a beautiful sunset on the horizon. This quote came back to me then. Next time you see a sunset, just take a minute to absorb it, and appreciate its beauty. The same sun rises whether we are in Florida on vacation or in our own backyard.
